Solskin Doula

My name is Shay and I am a Birth Doula and Birth Photographer, based in Victoria, BC. I came to this work via a strong inner calling to support women during their birth experiences and journeys into motherhood. I am dedicated to supporting and celebrating women with love, respect, belief in their inner strength and intuition.

I advocate for a birth experience where your voice is heard, your power is recognized, and your choices are respected. It's my main focus for you to feel loved, informed, and supported every step of the way. I am grateful to bear witness every breathtaking birth experience in whatever magical way it unfolds. 

Solskin comes from the Old Norse word sólskin, meaning sunshine. I strive to bring a warmth and lightness to the birth space as you bring your baby earth side. Just like the sun :)

I am certified as a doula through Conscious Birthing, trained under the amazing Daisy Dinwoodie.

I take on a very limited number of births each year to ensure that I am fully present and available to you both emotionally and physically.
